** Important Announcement **

Can you please reply by SATURDAY 8th AUGUST whether or not you are happy to return to screenings at the Village Hall

based on the following information:

The cinema committee has met periodically to work out when is the best time to start showing films again at the Shipham Community Cinema and would like to know your views. We will, of course, always take account of guidance from the Government, requirements from ACRE (the Village Hall Association) and the Shipham Village Hall Committee.
Cinema for All have also provided some very useful information including a risk assessment.
Based on all the above, we are planning to reopen at the end of September.   Numbers will be limited according to social distancing guidelines.   It may be necessary to pre-book tickets and
contact details will have to be provided.   Sanitisers will be provided as well as anti-bacterial wipes.   Toilets will also be available. Limited refreshments will be available but we will not be using the kitchen, for example bottles of beer, cans of soft drinks and wine but no hot drinks.      We would like it if you brought your
own glasses but will have some paper cups available if needed.  Ice-creams will be on sale.    We have acquired a card reader for you to make contactless payments.   You can use cash but no change will be given.

We are planning to pick up the programme where we left off in mid-March which will last until the end of December.   Current membership subscriptions will be carried over until the end of December 2020.  Next year’s membership fee up to the end of June 2021 will be at a reduced rate of £5
New members from September 2020 will pay the full £10 for the season.

These are the thoughts of your Committee on how to provide the best overall experience possible for our audience.   However we welcome your thoughts and feelings whether positive or negative
to help us bring some much needed entertainment back into the community!  So please do let us know your views and we look forward to hearing from you.

Please email us at cinema@shiphamhall.co.uk as soon as possible with your response.

The Shipham Community Cinema is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers and is an associate member of Cinema For All

Based at Shipham Village Hall, Shipham Community Cinema aims to screen a varied programme of films chosen from mainstream feature films, classic movies, comedy, music, world cinema and best of British. In addition we hope to show a second short film at each showing if time permits. As you know our shorts have to be seen to be believed!

Come and experience our fantastic high definition Blu-ray projector, surround-sound system and big screen. Membership is available for each season and is recommended, however you don't have to be a member to come along to a screening as tickets are always available on the door for guests.

Refreshments are always available when the doors open and during the interval. They include local Butcombe beer, fine wine provided by Santé Wines and award-winning locally produced ice-cream.

Check our programme page to see a list of upcoming films!

We welcome feedback and there will be every opportunity after each showing to tell us what you think and make suggestions for future films. You can also fill out our feedback form to let us know how you think we're doing.

If you have any suggestions for films, queries or comments please email us on cinema@shiphamhall.co.uk. The committee welcomes anyone who wishes to become actively involved, or has relevant skills to offer.

We would like to thank our sponsors Butcombe Brewery and Santé Wines for their support.
